Indigenous Australian, and senior female painter Judy Watson Napangardi was from the Yuendumu community in the Northern Territory. She took up painting in the 1980s and exhibited since the 1990s, and was listed in the Top 50 Aboriginal Artists in multiple years from 1999 to 2008 by the Australian Art Collector Magazine.
