Born about 1932, Long Jack Tjakamarra is a Pintupi Australian Aboriginal painter from the Papunya area of the Northern Territory, and is one of the most senior and one of the most important artists of Papunya involved with the early Aboriginal art movement in 1971, and has painted continuously since then. Long Jack was a foundation member of Papunya Tula Artists Cooperative and in the early 1990s Long Jack was Chairman. He won the Northern Territory Golden Jubilee Art Award in 1983 and Alice Springs Caltex Art Award in 1984. He paints with synthetic polymer on canvas.
