About Sharon Painter-Arps
Sharon Painter-Arps studied at Otago Polytechnic Art School in Dunedin where she specialised in plastics combined with paint in a two dimensional format. In 1994 she began to carve in jade and other hard stones and now specilaises in that media. In 2005 she graduated from Monash University (Melbourne) with a Master of Fine Arts, specialising in New Zealand cross culture in stone carving.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2012.
