A New Zealand artist, Brent Wong was born in Otaki in 1945 and trained briefly at the Wellington Polytechnic College, but is largely self taught. His work has included abstract watercolours and later surreal landscapes in other media. In 1967 eight drawings were accepted for exhibition at the New Zealand Academy and in 1969 12 of his works were exhibited at the Rothman's Gallery, Wellington. In 2008 he moved from painting to explore music composition, an area that had always interested him.
