About Percy Trezise
Born in Tallangatta, Victoria in 1923, Percy Trezise became a writer and artist after spending a lifetime as a pilot, explorer and historian. He settled in Cairns in 1956. He has written three books on Northern Queensland where most of his paintings are set. He exhibited in Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney between 1979 and 1985. He frequently painted with Dick Roughsey, both of them showing some influence of Ray Crooke. He had over 15 illustrated children's books published, eight co-produced with Dick Roughsey.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $6,710 for Rainforest 1978 sold by Gibson's Auctioneers & Valuers in April 2023.
