Born in 1927 in Bridgetown, Western Australia, Geoff Wilson moved around with his family settling in Adelaide in 1941. After schooling he took an art teaching course at the South Australian School of Art and Adelaide Teachers College, and then became a secondary teacher. He travelled to London in 1954, and spent 3 years travelling through Europe. In 1962 he was appointed a lecturer at the South Australian School of Art where he remained for 20 years. He has exhibited frequently with venues including the Royal South Australian Society of Arts, the Contemporary Art Society and museum survey exhibitions of South Australian artists as well as group shows in commercial galleries.
