After training in Fine Art at RMIT, Julie Ingleby taught art in Melbourne western suburban technical schools. She co-authored and participated in anti-war `Happenings': and worked on anti-war and environmental murals, was arrested for anti-war activity in 1960s and 70s with the result that she was blacklisted by Victorian Education Department and Chamber of Commerce). Julie Ingleby is a founding member of Permanent Red art collective and has organised and co-ordinated Melbourne western suburbs young artists' murals and a cross-age children's mural.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1991.
