Born in 1892, Jessie MacKintosh studied at the National Gallery School in Melbourne from 1908 to 1911 and 1927 to 1931. She exhibited with the Victorian Artists Society 1928-31 and the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors 1931-58. She also produced lithographs and these were exhibited at the New Melbourne Art Club in the 1930s. She was also a member of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society Inc.
