About Vera Blackburn
Born in Sydney in 1911, Vera Blackburn studied under Adelaide Perry. Best known as a printmaker, she moved to England in 1937, where she studied at the Westminster Art School. She married in 1939 and remained permanently in England. She produced no more work until the late 1980s.
The total number of works by Vera Blackburn offered for sale by auction since 1983 is 29, of which 16 (55%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $4,440 for Tom-Tom sold by Shapiro Auctioneers in August 2016.
