Kim Tarpey is a painter, printmaker and ceramicist who graduated in 1980 from Preston Institute of Technology. She has worked as facilitator for many creative projects in Local Government, schools and for organisations such as Arts Access. She had her first solo exhibition in 1993 at the Moore Gallery, in Melbourne and since then has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney and Regional Victoria in commercial and public galleries. She has been a finalist in several competitions such as the Silk Cut Competition, Yering Station Sculpture Award, Toyota Sculpture Award, Clunes Ceramic Award and the Manningham and the Victorian Ceramics Award. In 2014 she received the Walker Ceramics Award in the Sydney Teapot show.
