Born in Northern Ireland in in 1918 Patrick O'Carrigan arrived in Australia in 1928. He studied in Sydney with Edmund Smith, Accademia Belli Arte and Scuola del Nudo Rome with Franco Gentilini 1969-70 and in Europe. He exhibited regularly in Melbourne. His skillful watercolours won many prizes and lifted the standard of watercolour painting in the Melbourne area. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Victoria, and regional galleries in Bendigo, Hamilton, Horsham and the Latrobe Valley.
