Born in Bendigo in 1933, Hamblin is mostly a self-taught artist but has studied and worked in the UK, USA and Israel from 1980 to 1984. He is principally a landscape artist, depicting Australian outback scenes and was appointed the official artist on the Bicentennial Event, The Last Great Cattle Drive a 2000 mile walk from the Northern Territory to Queensland. He has exhibited regularly in Darwin and Mornington, Victoria.
