A Melbourne artist born in 1883, Constance Jenkins studied at the National Gallery School and won the Victorian National Gallery travelling scholarship in 1908. She went to Europe, studying in Paris, London, Italy and Munich and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais and the Royal Academy. After marrying Spencer Macky in 1912 she moved to the USA. Here the couple established an art school which later merged with the California School of Fine Arts. Jenkins exhibited with various art groups. She died in the USA in 1961.
