A portraitist and painter of historical and architectural subjects, Arno Roger-Genersh was born in France in 1929. After studying in Munich, and extensively travelling and working in Europe he arrived in Australia in 1960. He was commissioned by the World Health Organisation to paint a portrait of Dr Albert Schweitzer; his drawings have been included in ten of Rigby's Sketchbook Series.
