About Aileen Weinberg
Aileen Weinberg was born in 1922. She studied at the National Gallery School with Sir William Dargie from 1949 to 1953 and at the Bendigo CAE. She worked as draughtsperson with the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works in mid 1950s. From 1960-1974 she worked at the CSIRO as an animation artist with Percy Watson. Aileen Weinberg served as a council member with Victorian Artist Society. She was a tonal realist and portrait artist. Five of her portraits were presented to the Irish Prime Minister.
