A New Zealand abstract landscape artist, Jean Horsley was born in 1913. She studied at Elam School and at Chelsea School of Art, London in 1934. She exhibited with the Auckland Society of Arts from 1935-1938, and was also included in numerous exhibitions at the Auckland City Art Gallery, the Rutland Group, and at the New Vision Gallery in 1966. Her works were included in the Three Women Painters exhibition at the Auckland City Art Gallery 1957. She lived in the USA from 1969 to 1983.
