Born in Victoria in 1921, Geoffrey Goldie studied with George Bell in Melbourne. He is known for his portraits, landscapes and stage sets in oil and acrylic, some reflecting an interest in Hindu mythology and symbolism. He has exhibited in Adelaide and Melbourne. One of his commissions was to paint five murals for the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,600 for Still Life sold by Rushton Fine Arts in November 1989.
