Born in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales in 1951, Mary Pinnock studied at Wagga Wagga Technical College from 1963 to 1965, the Camden Institute, London from 1971 to 1973, the Roayl Academy in London in 1973. She also studied the craft of batik art in South East Asia in 1975. A painter and decorative artist, she had her first solo exhibition in 1982 in Sydney and has held 16 solo exhibitions to 2006. She has also participated in a number of group exhibitions. Mary Pinnock was a finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 2002.
