Lisa Young was born in Cheltenham, UK in 1940. She studied at the Kingston School of Art, London 1959. She spent three years studying and working in Italy, and then moved to Australia in 1985 where she attended the Adelaide Central School of Art. She then joined Adelaide Central Central School of Art as a lecturer in 1988 and has conducted workshops at the Art Gallery of South Australia. She has exhibited widely from 1990 in Adelaide and Sydney. She has received much acclaim for her narrative still lifes which are mystical and captivating.
