About Tony White
Tony White was born in Sydney in 1942. He graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Architecture and practiced for a time as an architect but became a self-taught full-time jeweller in the late 1950s. He travelled and studied extensively in Europe, Asia and the USA from the late 1960s onwards. He is known for his pieces of jewellery that were more like art. In Australia, his collections were always unveiled in the most prestigious fine art galleries. In the United States he held boutique showings in New York, los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas where wealthy clientele lived. Hs more discerning Sydney customers were invited to the viewing room in his home. He died in Sydney in 2020 and his personal collection of jewellery was sold by Bonhams in Sydney in October 2020.
