Born in Nelson, New Zealand in 1937, Tom Field studied at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts in the 1950s. A painter, teacher and printmaker, he is best known for his Otago landscapes rendered in oil, acrylic and mixed media. He has taught at both primary and secondary level and lectured at Otago Polytechnic. He lives in Christchurch.
