Born in Peterhead, Scotland in 1910, Kath Jarvis studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and the central School of Art in London, before arriving in Perth in 1930. A painter in watercolour and ateacher, she exhibited with the Perth Society of Art, and won several prizes for watercolour. She also exhibited in several two and three person shows in Perth and held regular shows at Newspaper House from 1934 to 1951. She taught at secondary level and with Adult Education classes. She won the Dunlop Watercolour Prize in 1953 and the Claude Hotchkin Watercolour Prize in 1953 and 1955.
