Born in Victoria, Walter Magilton is a realist painter, sculptor, silversmith and teacher. He studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and, after 28 years teaching with the Victorian Department of Education, opened his own studio. He began exhibiting his work in 1974 in Melbourne.
