Born in Ayr in Queensland in 1953, Scott McDougall is a teacher and painter. He was awarded a 1 Diploma of Fine Arts from the Seven Hills College of Arts in 1978 and taught at secondary level until 1984. He has exhibited his representational paintings since 1979, and as well as exhibiting in Brisbane, has shown in Sydney, Melbourne Bristol (UK) and Hanoi as well as participating in numerous group exhibitions. He has won numerous prizes including being a finalist in the Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW in 1986.
