A New Zealand artist born in Wellington in 1888, Ronald McKenzie studied at the Canterbury School, and later taught there. A painter, he travelled widely in Europe and exhibited at the Paris salon, finally settling in New York where he worked as a commercial artist, painting in his spare time.
We have records of art auction sales by Ronald McKenzie from 1990 and in total 34 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 24 (71%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $2,518 for European Village and Boat Scene sold by Watson's Auctioneers in November 2004. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2018. Works by Ronald McKenzie are held by the Christchurch Art Gallery and Auckland Art Gallery.
