Born in Melbourne in 1935, William Ogilvie has studied extensively in Melbourne and visited Europe on a study tour in 1974. A sculptor of figurative or semi-abstract forms based on life, he works with cast bronze, pewter, timber and stainless steel. He has won a number of sculpting awards and has exhibited since 1975 in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart.
