David Tulloch arrived in Australia in 1848. A painter and commercial engraver he worked for Thomas Ham, Ferguson & Mitchell and later in is own engraving business. He painted and sketched in the Victorian goldfields, much of his work being published in the 'Illustrated Australian' magazine.
