Born in Christchurch in 1908, Jean McKay (married name was Jane Leggett) studied at Wellington Technical College. She was best known for her floral paintings and exhibited at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1927 to 1945 and at the Otago Art Society in 1927.
