Born in Parramatta, New South Wales in 1894, Leslie Walker studied at Granville Technical College and at the Royal Art Society in Sydney, of which he became a member. Beginning his career as an etcher, he was a member of the Australian Painter-Etchers' Society. He later changed his career path to painting landscapes and florals works working in oils.
