Born in Tasmania in 1874, F. J. (Frederick) Lloyd received no formal art training. He painted and travelled in Tasmania and New Zealand, and in 1896 exhibited with the Art Society of Tasmania. Lloyd's work is represented in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
