A West Australian artist, Margaret Crowley was born in 1927. She completed an art certificate course at Perth Technical College before moving to Melbourne and studying at the National Gallery Art School. She worked in watercolour and oil producing Western Australian landscapes and town scenes and 1949 to 1955 she exhibited every year in Perth and Sydney through group and solo exhibitions. She moved to Sydney in 1955 remaining there until 1983. She resumed exhibiting in the 1970s until the early 1980s and then returned to Western Australia in 1988 to live and work.

We have records of art auction sales by Margaret Crowley from 1994 and in total 27 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 18 (67%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $2,530 for Landscape sold by GFL Fine Art in August 2022. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022.
