Born in 1942, ceramic sculptor Liz Williams studied at the South Australian School of Art where she was awarded a Diploma of Art and Art Education in 1963, and the South Australian College of Advanced Education where she gained a bachelor of Design in in 1989. In the late 1970s she studied at Scripps College, in Claremont California and when she returned to Australia in the early 1980s she began creating her figurative ceramic works. Her work was included in numerous solo and group exhibitions from 1976 in Adelaide, Melbourne and internationally. From 2011 to 2016 she travelled and studied in China, St Petersburg, Crete, Greece, Japan and London.
