Born in the Netherlands in 1954, van den Berg exhibited his work in Europe before arriving in Australia in 1982 and holding his first solo show in Australia in 1984. An abstract and figurative artist, he has since exhibited in Melbourne, Wollongong and overseas in Italy, Netherlands and the United States of America. He is currently Painting Coordinator at the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Wollongong and has studios in inner Sydney and Coledale, north of Woollongong.
