Born in England c1824, Charles Dirk Wittenoom arrived in Western Australia in 1830. A topographical artist, he painted in the York area of Western Australia where he lived and illustrated several books on the 1830s. His work was included in The Colonial Eye at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 1879.
