Born in Western Australia in 1905, Leonard Green studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic, the Central Art School and Heatherly's in London. Originally a newspaper artist for 'The West Australian' he lived and worked for some time in South Africa and England painting in oils watercolour and acrylic. Green also studied buon fresco and mural painting in Italy and Switzerland, before returning to Perth to live in 1980.

The total number of works by Leonard Green offered for sale by auction since 1988 is 34, of which 19 (56%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,540 for Still Life in Landscape sold by GFL Fine Art in March 1997. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022.
