Born in Gawler, South Australia in 1947, Peter D Cole is a sculptor, painter designer and teacher. He received a Diploma of Fine Art from the South Australian School of Art in 1968 where he was awarded H.P. Gill Medal. He also studied and worked overseas in 1968-69 and 1974-75. A sculptor using welded, metals and abstract artist using paint and pastel, Cole moved to Melbourne in 1970 where he held his first exhibition and has also exhibited in regional centres, with 26 solo exhibitions to 2016 and numerous group exhibitions. Peter D. Cole has also won awards in 1995 and 1996 for public sculture installations in the The Rocks in Sydney. [He is to be distinguished from Peter Cole, also a sculptor, born in Bairnsdale Victoria in 1946.]
