About Malcolm Thain
Born in Somerset, England in 1944, Malcolm Thain migrated to Australia with his family in 1949 and settled in the Geelong area. He studied at the Gordon Institute of Technology in Geelong and then at RMIT where he gained a diploma of painting, and later became a lecturer at that institute.His first of many solo exhibition was held in 1966.In 1972 he was awarded a Myer Foundation grant which enabled him to travel and study in Europe.
