About Martin H. Thompson (Australia)
Martin Thompson was born in England in 1952. After migrating to Australia, he was awarded a Certificate of Art from Perth Technical College. He then worked with the Western Australian Museum from 1971 for 9 years, before becoming a full-time watercolour artist, favouring Australian wildlife in their natural settings. In 1981 he produced the limited edition Western Australian Bird Folio with 37 full-page colour plates. He lives and works in Mosman Park, a Perth suburb.
