Born in Sydney in 1913, expatriate sculptor, Barbara Tribe, has lived in England since 1935 when she was awarded the prestigious New South Wales Travelling Art Scholarship. Her training under Rayner Hoff at the East Sydney Art School proved to be invaluable and combined with her innate modelling skills laid the foundation for a long, highly respected professional career. Amongst her sculptures is the terracotta head of artist Lloyd Rees which was reproduced in 'Australian Sculptors' by Scarlett. Her work is represented in the Australian National Collection.
