Monika Tichacek was born in Switzerland in 1975 and studied at the School of Visual Arts, Zurich before moving to Perth in 1994, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts and Humanities at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University, Perth in 1996. In 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. A photographic and video artist, she held solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Tel Aviv in 2005 and 2006.
