Born in Whangarei, New Zealand, Mark Hill trained as a graphic designer and photographer at the Queensland College of Art. After his first solo exhibition in 2002, Hill, who is based in Arrowtown, has been working on commission pieces for a number of private collections in New Zealand and Australia, as well as public works in Katikati, Wanaka, Arrowtown and Queenstown including Queenstown Airport & The Hills Golf Course.
