Born in 1887, Tina Wentcher (nee Hiam) was a sculptor. She studied in Berlin and in Paris. During the World War I, she worked as a portraitist, making reproductions for Berlin's Egyptian Museum. She and her husband (artist Julius Wentscher 1888 - 1962) won a trip to Asia in 1931 where they travelled and worked until 1940, after World War II had begun. They were deported from Malaysia to Australia where they were detained until 1943. Tina continued to exhibit her work until her death in 1974.
