Born in Sydney in 1908, Wilbow studied at the Julian Ashton School in Sydney and then in London. He was a landscape, floral, still life and portrait painter, the latter evidenced by his being a finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957. He was a member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and the Australian Art Society.

We have records of art auction sales by Clive Wilbow from 1974 and in total 42 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 31 (74%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,500 for London Blitz sold by Christies in December 1994. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
