Born in Masterton, New Zealand in September 1960 Richard Cooper is a self taught artist. He works with many mediums including oil, pencil, ink, water, acrylics. He paints historical pictures from old black and white photos and brings them to life with colour. He particuarly favours portraits after C. F. Goldie.
