Born in England in 1921, Peter Miller arrived in Australia in 1924 as a child. He studied at the Perth Technical School, the Melbourne National Gallery School and the Melbourne Institute of Technology. A realist painter, he has won several art awards. He was a finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 1967. he as also a teacher, and was head of the Art Department at Brunswick Technical School in Melbourne. He exhibited at the Contemporary Art Society Gallery in Melbourne in 1975
