Arie Hellendoorn was born in the Netherlands in 1980 and studied for a Bachelor Fine Art (Hons) at Massey University in Wellington in 2007 and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) at Auckland University in 2010. He has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions throughout New Zealand since 2003 and had his first Australian solo exhibition in 2013 where he has exhibited regularly since. He was finalist in the 2015 Redlands Konica Minolta Art Prize, and his work has recently been acquired by the James Wallace Trust in Auckland and the Wellington City Council Collection. He is currently based in Wellington, New Zealand.
