Abbey McCulloch was born in Queensland in 1975. She studied for a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Fine Art, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University in 1995 and a Research Masters in Fine Art , Queensland College of Art, Griffith University in 2008. She has exhibited in solo and selective exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast since 2003 and has been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize in 2004, the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 2007 and 2009 and the Portia Geach Memorial Award, SH Erwin Gallery, NSW in 2015.
