Born in Brisbane in 1933, Ann Thomson studied in Brisbane under Jon Molvig, and in Sydney and Paris. A lecturer and painter, her canvases are large, abstract and surrealist. She was commissioned by the University of Queensland to paint a mural for the refectory. Ann Thomson has won a number of awards including the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris in 1978.
