Born in Eastbourne, England in 1895, Albert Clarke arrived in Australia in 1914. He studied at the Darlinghurst Technical College and at the Royal Art Society. Working with oils, watercolour, pencil and ink, he is known for his drawings of historical buildings and landcapes. He exhibited in solo shows Sydney from 1946 to 1982. He was a member of the Royal Art Society and published a number of books containing his sketches.
