Born about 1930 in the Jarruluk area of the Northern Territory, Paddy Fordham Wainburranga was a stockman until the 1970s, when he took up painting and sculpting. He contributed thirty of the two hundred poles of the Hollow Log Memorial installation at the National Gallery of Australia, opened in 1988, as a tribute to all the Aborigines who had died as the result of European contact.
